Now in its fifth year, the Annual Manufacturer Awards are designed to raise the profile, awareness and understanding of UK manufacturing and Clifton Packaging Group are honored to be short listed in the competitive Design & Innovation category. This award sets out to recognise those who can show how they have become and remained competitive using innovation and new designs. The winners will be announced at a Black Tie Awards ceremony on 15th October 2008 at The Excel in London.

Innovation is something Clifton believes in entirely and every member of the Clifton team is encouraged to think out side the box and excel in their ideas.

The President of Uganda made a visit to the Leicester firm on Saturday to see how Ugandan Asians have turned their lives around since being exiled from Uganda in 1972. Whilst at Clifton he was given a full tour and given an insight into what exactly we do here at Clifton Packaging along with Chairman Khalid Sheikh's plans to help Africa with his Buy African Build Africa (BABA) project.

Saturday 6th September 2008, Ugandan Community Achievement Awards 2008 - Clifton wins the 'Business Innovation' award.

Chairman Khalid Sheikh gave a speech at the awards evening held at the Hilton Hotel in London Docklands, where Clifton Packaging PLC won an award for Business Innovation.

Leicester will undertake its biggest-ever marketing push this autumn as it seeks to attract businesses and tourists on the back of the city's £3 billion regeneration programme. Director General of the Institiute of Directors (IoD) Miles Templeman expressed his views over a day long visit on the 19th June co-hosted by Clifton Packaging Group PLC.

Last night Clifton Packaging Group Plc were proud to stand amongst the best at the National Business Awards 2008: Regional Finals in Birmingham. Managing Director Shahid Sheikh was a finalist in the Entrepreneur of the Year Award and we were very proud to be 'Highly Commended' for our entry into the Small to Medium Sized Business of the Year Award.

Clifton have won a top prize in this years Lloyds TSB Jewel Awards! Clifton won the Business and Commerce Excellence prize at a ceremony at the NEC Hilton, Birmingham. This is another top award to add to Clifton's already impressive list of awards attained this year.

At a special event co-hosted by IoD comittee member Shahid Sheilkh at Clifton Packaging, the head of the Institute of Directors, Director General Mr. Miles Templeman gave a speech to over 40 business leaders about how Leicester must market it self better and change people perception about the city.

Our Chairman, Khalid Sheikh has been invited to speak at the World Entrepreneurship Summit (WES) hosted by Sacoma, which is being held in Kenya. He has also been invited to speak at the World Packaging Organisation Board Meeting, which is being held in Ghana, at both events Khalid has been invited as a expert in the field of packaging where he will be giving a presentation on 'Agro Processing & Packaging for Africa'.

Following Shahid's recent announcement that he is a finalist in the Entrepreneur of the Year category in the Leicestershire Business Awards 2008, the Clifton team has produced a video presentation that summarises many of Shahid and Clifton's achievements. The video highlights examples of the business, charity, sporting and community related work that Shahid has carried out in 2007.

Clifton hosted a gathering of some of Ghanas most influencial business people to show how decent packaging can help build sales of certain product lines.

It was a monumental achievement for Shahid to reach the final of the British Asian Sports Awards (BASA), The event was witnessed by some of the most influential people in sport .

Shahid Sheikh has just been informed that he has made it to the final of the prestigious British Asian Sports Awards (BASA), he is being recognised for his work with Sport within the Community .

The glamorous event will take place on Saturday 16th February 2008 at the London Hilton Hotel, Park Lane, 6.30pm. The event is viewed by millions of Sony Entertainment Television viewers across the globe, and receives unrivalled attention from the world's media.

The second article, 'Love Africa as you would Love your own Mother', is a feature done on our chairman, Khalid Sheikh's trip to Uganda to the CHOGM Business Forum 2007. The Flexotecnica Chronos 8 is currently being assembled in our state of the art factory and will be fully installed and functioning for the new year! This multi milltion pound investment will allow Clifton to start 2008 with a bang!

Friday 4th October 2007, Khalid Sheikh has been invited to speak at the prestigious Commonwealth Business Forum in Uganda, Africa!!

The Forum will focus on new opportunities for investment partnerships across different regions within the Commonwealth and internationally. The Forum will also highlight Uganda and East Africa’s advantages, opportunities, and position as a trade and investment hub. The event will be hosting Presidents and Prime Ministers from across the 53 Commonwealth nations..
